Welcome to Leah Land!
JANUARY ISSUE |
|
Hello . . .
To the new members of Leah Land, welcome. To those that have been with us for a while, thanks for sticking around. I hope that everyone has survived the holidays intact. Last month was jam-packed with birthdays, writers strikes, and screenings galore, but it is hard to talk about the past with the new year looming so close at hand. I will be heading off to Park City in a few weeks to be on a distribution panel and the Slamdance jury. Other than that, I am excited to start working on Unicorns full time. I am particularly looking forward to the casting process. Not only is casting 80% of directing, but I think it will finally make this film feel real. I hope the upcoming year is a happy and productive one for everyone. Have a happy new year!
xoxo, Leah

Sundance/Slamdance
|
|
Ahh, it is that time of year again - when I leave the cold confines of New York far behind - for somewhere even colder!
I will be in Park City, Utah from January 16-27th.
- A two-time festival alumni, I will be returning to Slamdance once again - this time as a member of the narrative jury.
- I will also be on a panel about online distribution on January 20th with Sarah Pollack from YouTube.
- If
you or anyone you know will be out in Park City that week, please drop me a
line. There is always time for sledding in between parties and screenings!

Other Fun Stuff
|
|
- I usually think winter birthdays in New York are horribly depressing, but this year I decided to embrace mine and am so glad that I did! Thanks to everyone who helped make my birthday so spectacular. Check out some photos of the festivities here.
- Or if birthday parties aren't your cup of tea, how about hundreds of drunk strangers in santa suits?
Surreal. Scary. Santacon.
- The Team Queen screening at the IFC center was also a lot of fun. You can find some pics from the evening here.
- Or, to find out more about what I've been up to, check out my blog!
